When the Cleveland Cavaliers traveled to Memphis to face the Grizzlies on Wednesday, it was the only time they would travel to Memphis this season, so many fans were looking forward to watching the Cavs dynamic trio of LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving play.So when coach Tyronn Lue chose to leave all three players at home for rest, many Memphis fans were understandably disappointed. One young fan held up a sign that said”LeBron. Thanks for ruining my Christmas!” Coach Lue’s decision was an extremely controversial one, and when the Cavs lost in the dominating fashion to the Grizzlies, it made the decision look even worse. Even though the score was only decided by eight points, the Cavs scored the final eight points of the game. Obviously every team has to rest their players once in a while, but when a very talented team like the Cavs rest their three best players, it’s very disappointing and could also be bad for attendance in Cleveland.I feel like they should’ve even doubt the arm resting of the players. They could rest Love one night,Kyrie the next, and LeBron the last night depending on the strength of the teams they are playing. And to rest them now? Toronto is right on their heels for the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, and with the win Memphis moved to 18-9 on the season. Not the best team to rest your three best players against. Not the best time to do so either. As I was writing this, the Cavs were 19-6,just a game ahead of Toronto at 19-8.Will the Cavs fare better the rest of the season? We’ll see, although they probably will lock up the number one seed in the playoffs, depending on whether or not the Big Three actually plays.
