DeMarcus Cousins Shocks NBA World, Signs With Two-Time Defending Champion Warriors

Just as we thought that parity might return to the NBA landscape; LeBron James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Golden State Warriors suffering their most tumultuous season since their dynasty began in 2014(although it concluded with an inevitable championship); the Golden State Warriors have made another free-agency move that has altered the course of time towards its original path(from parity to another Warriors title, of course). After the departure of center JaVale McGee, the Dubs’ main priority was filling the 5 spot, currently occupied by Zaza Pachulia. And fill it they did. After acquiring four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins on a one-year, 5.3 million dollar deal, Golden State now has All-Stars at every position in the starting lineup and has raised their championship odds from -110 to -150. Cousins, aka “the third Splash Brother”, should add to what is, in my opinion, the greatest team in NBA history. I really think, that even in today’s era of super teams, this year presents a chance to break the all-time wins record and win a ring at the same time, the one thing they’ve never done. After that however, salary cap issues may cause Cousins and one of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green to leave in the offseason of 2019. As stated before, there are more and more super teams on the way in today’s league, so expect this to be a big year for Golden State.
