The 2019 NFL offseason figures to be one of the most notable offseasons in quite some time, with many notable and accomplished players testing the market. Here are my predictions for the top free agents this season, updated with each signing.
1. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Steelers
Prediction: Buffalo Bills
After missing out on one of the Steelers Killer Bs, the Bills land Bell as a consolation prize. The New York Jets appear to be uninterested in signing the running back, while Oakland will look to find other weapons, including Tevin Coleman. The Philadelphia Eagles might make a push, but it all depends on how much Howie Roseman chooses to pursue the signing.
2. Earl Thomas, S, Seahawks
Prediction: Dallas Cowboys
Both sides would love to see this happen, and Thomas has been connected to Dallas for quite some time now following a falling-out in Seattle.
3. Nick Foles, QB, Eagles
Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars
This is nearly 100%, as a deal has nearly been reached between the two.
4. C.J. Mosley, LB, Ravens
Prediction: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers desperately need help on defense and will look to make a splash with one of the game’s best in Mosley, who surprisingly did not receive the Ravens’ franchise tag.
5. Landon Collins, S, Giants
Prediction: Houston Texans
Another shocking franchise tag snub, the Texans will be looking for secondary help after likely losing Tyrann Mathieu, and Collins remains among the game’s best despite a relative down year in 2018.
6. Trey Flowers, DT, Patriots
Prediction: New England Patriots
Flowers has said he would like to stay in New England, and the Patriots would be hard-pressed to replace their defensive leader.
7. Jay Ajayi, RB, Eagles
Prediction: New York Jets
After missing out on Bell, the Jets make a splash on a hit-or-miss signing in Ajayi, who is coming off an ACL tear.
8. Tevin Coleman, RB, Falcons
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia needs a weapon at RB, and takes the second-best option on the market in Coleman.
9. Golden Tate, WR, Eagles
Prediction; New England Patriots
Tate would fit perfectly as a deep threat for Tom Brady in New England, and could even see time in the slot between Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski.
10. Tyrann Mathieu, S, Houston Texans
Prediction: Washington Redskins
Washington needs secondary help after losing Kendall Fuller in the Alex Smith trade, and Mathieu remains among the best in the league at the safety position.
11. Adrian Amos Jr., S, Bears
Prediction: Denver Broncos
12. Ndamukong Suh, DT, Rams
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles
13. Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, S, Redskins
Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs
14. Ronald Darby, CB, Eagles
Prediction: Seattle Seahawks
15. Lamarcus Joyner, S, Rams
Prediction: Pittsburgh Steelers
16. Bryce Callahan, CB, Bears
Prediction: New York Jets
17. DeSean Jackson, WR, Buccaneers
Prediction: Philadelphia Eagles
18. Sheldon Richardson, DT, Vikings
Prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars
