Ronaldo Makes Blockbuster Move to Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has been reported to have signed a 2-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for a 200 million euro salary.

The contract, which breaks the record for largest in football and likely sports history, will take the Portuguese legend away from European football for the first time in his career and ensure his first full season without Champions League football for the first time since 2002-03.

Long rumored to be headed for a split from Manchester United after internal tensions and a lengthy decline in form, a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan last month in which the Portugal talisman ranted against the structure and leadership seemingly confirmed an inevitable messy divorce. Now in Saudi Arabia, we’ve likely seen the last of Ronaldo’s assault on the UEFA Champions League record books, but he could still add to his record tally of over 800 career goals for club and country.

Al-Nassr currently sit 2nd in the Saudi Pro League, two points out of a first-place spot that would also give them a spot in the 2023 AFC Champions League.
