Celtics Stun Heat at Buzzer to Force Historic Game 7

The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 104-103 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals Saturday night to force Game 7 in Boston on Monday.

The Celtics trailed by one after Jimmy Butler shrugged off poor shooting all game to score 13 points in the final five minutes, including hitting three free throws to put Miami up 103-102 with three seconds left. After Marcus Smart missed a would-be game-winner 3 off the inbound, Derrick White put it in off the rebound with fractions of a second to go to beat the buzzer and silence the home crowd in Miami.

The Celtics have become the fourth team in NBA history to force a Game 7 after trailing 3-0, and the first to do so after losing Games 1 and 2 at home. They will also be the first of those four teams to host Game 7, as they look to become the first team in NBA history to ever pull off a 3-0 series comeback.

Miami will have one more chance at becoming the second 8 seed to ever reach the Finals, but they will do so in Boston after squandering two chances at home in Games 4 and 6.
